-BURLESQUE & PERFORMANCE CLASSES-
I was attracted to this art form for its combination of parody, sensuality, theatricality, glamour, and of course - dance. After a decade and hundreds of shows, I love it even more.
Let me share my performance perspective with you! In this 8-week series, you'll learn the basics of burlesque - with sauntering, struts & confident swag, pauses & stillness, bumps & grinds, shimmies & shakes, tease & appeal, peels & props, and even a few of my own signature moves. We'll touch upon the history (and a few of its trailblazing teasers), how to unabashedly unleash our "woo" for an audience of 1 or 1,000 - with intention, attention & energy projection, and flirt with the debatable differences between character and persona.
Invite your unique succulence, sensuality, and sexiness out to play! No burlesque or dance experience is necessary. All levels are encouraged, from bashful beginners to seasoned stage performers; whether you just desire more connection, comfort & confidence in your own body, wish to give a private show to your lover (or yourself in the mirror), or long to convince an entire audience that they ALL could be your lovers.
Classes will be geared toward all identities wishing to explore, accentuate, and perform sensuality. ALL genders, body types, and ages (over 16) are welcome. There is no nudity or undressing in this series.
Wear comfortable clothing that you'll feel sassy moving around in. Comfortable heels are encouraged.
$120 for the Series or $20 per Walk-In

Prerequisite: Burlesque Basics with Sweetpea - OR- Levels 1&2 of instruction from the other local schools -OR- 1 year of solo burlesque performance experience.
In addition to dance, Sweetpea is known for her talents in cultivating sincere community while enhancing individual skill and confidence. -These are intentional side effects of this series as well.
(Note: There may be an opportunity to perform the learned routine, but it is not mandatory to do so in order to take the series. Taking this series is not a guarantee for casting.)
